Preventative Maintenance

Preventative Maintenance is an important cost-saving measure in fleet management consisting of scheduled services, inspections, and repairs on vehicles and equipment. This is done regularly to prevent problems developing which can lead to knock-on effects of delays, costs, downtime, and customer service disappointments.

Preventative Maintenance can also assist in the safety and compliance of fleets, such as vehicle and tire inspections, registration reminders, and driver and equipment certifications.

Benefits of Preventative Maintenance

  • Reduce operating, maintenance, and repair costs: Proactively providing routine maintenance to your fleet of assets will cut down the expense in the future, due to damage and breakdown.
  • Increase fuel savings and efficiency: Regular maintenance will increase your asset’s overall fuel economy and reliability.
  • Boost overall safety and compliance: Frequently and well-maintained equipment and vehicle create a safer environment for the driver, passengers, and others on the road/worksite.
  • Decrease vehicle and equipment downtime: Reducing unplanned idle time through scheduled maintenance on your assets will reduce unwanted costs.
  • Avoid wear and tear: Overusing vehicles and assets will lead to damage, a shorter life cycle, and in the end replacement costs.

Service and Maintenance Module

The assets activity is captured in terms of ignition events and movement events, where we can deuce the time traveled, distance traveled, idle time, and much more. From here, the intuitive Service and Maintenance module within the software allows intervals, alerts, and reminders to be set, where the device accumulates distance and hours, then translates this into ‘jobs’ with action and sign-off features.
