Qantas and Blackhawk IoT Deploy Oyster Sigfox for GSE Management

Digital Matter

Announced at Sigfox Connect 2019: Our Oyster Sigfox is taking flight!

Qantas Australia, supported by our channel partners Blackhawk IoT and Thinxtra, has implemented a large-scale deployment of our Oyster battery-powered asset tracking devices for managing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at their major airports across Australia.

Thousands of Qantas “below-the-wing” assets (Buses, Baggage Tugs, Baggage Barrows, Vans, Belt Loaders, etc) are tracked and connected via 4G and the Sigfox 0G networks. Insights derived from tracking data are critical in maintaining airport security and safety, optimizing maintenance plans, reducing costs, and ensuring on-time performance standards are met.

The Oyster Sigfox is becoming the go-to device for GSE management – Air Asia is using the Oyster Sigfox in Malaysia – due to its incredibly low power consumption, long battery life, and industry-leading reliability.
