The Yabby Edge utilizes GNSS (GPS and BeiDou), Wi-Fi AP MAC Address Scanning, and Cell Tower or LoRaWAN® geolocation fallback to provide the most accurate position depending on the environment while saving power and optimizing battery life.
Cloud-Based Location Solving
Most GNSS asset tracking devices in the market today handle location calculations on-device, meaning the device itself determines its location. On the Yabby Edge, the location processing workload is handled in the cloud which substantially decreases power consumption. Now businesses can track assets for up to 10-12 years on user-replaceable, easily sourced AAA batteries.

Other battery-powered asset tracking devices may only last a few months to a year before the batteries need to be changed or manually recharged.
