Standard off-the-shelf tracking devices were limited to 8 G impact thresholds, which often failed to detect or properly classify damaging events during transit. To solve this, Nefab partnered with Digital Matter to customize the firmware on the Oyster Edge 4G, increasing the G‑force detection range to capture higher magnitude impacts and provide more granular event data.

With enhanced impact detection, Nefab can now generate actionable insights on transport stress, match impact events to potential damage, and improve their logistics strategy accordingly.
