A battery-powered GPS tracker is a self-contained device that uses GPS technology to determine its location and transmits this data wirelessly, operating solely on battery power for extended periods.

Can I integrate these devices with my platform?

How is my data protected?

We utilize military-level AES-256 encryption from our devices to Device Manager to protect the integrity and confidentiality of your data. Data forwarded to third-party systems, including location data, is sent via HTTPS for end-to-end security.

What types of assets can I track with these devices?

Any asset, anywhere. We offer the largest range of battery-operated GPS devices across a range of locations (indoor/outdoor) and connectivity technologies to best fit your use case. We have devices deployed on elephants, rhinos, bins, boats, pallets, returnable packaging, and much more. From trailer tracking to exotic animals, we have the asset tracker to track it!

How long will the device perform before I need to change the batteries?

Many of our devices can last up to 10 years before they require a battery change! However this is of course dependent on how you have configured the device, how often your asset is moving, and many other factors (like temperature, installation and orientation of the device, network coverage, sensor integrations, peripherals, accelerometer settings, and more).

What type of batteries do your devices utilize?

This depends on what Digital Matter device you are deploying, however most of our devices support off-the-shelf AA or AAA Alkaline or Lithium (always recommended) batteries. Some also support Lithium Thionyl Chloride batteries. Please check the device's tech spec sheet on power consumption to confirm supported battery types.
